Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you fill out the enquiry form on our site, we collect:

• Your name
• Your business name
• Your email address
• The category of business you run (café, gym, florist, etc.)
• Whatever you write in the free-text message field

If you email or phone us directly, we’ll receive whatever information you choose to share — usually your name, contact details, and details about your project.

Our web server (run by Vercel, see below) also keeps standard access logs. These include things like your IP address, browser type, the pages you visited, and the time of your visit. This is automatic and happens on nearly every website on the internet.

We do not collect payment information through the site. Invoicing happens separately after you approve your finished website.

How we collect it

We collect personal information:

• Directly from you, through our enquiry form (a POST request to /api/inquiry)
• Directly from you, when you email or call us
• Automatically, through standard server logs when you browse the site

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

• Respond to your enquiry and discuss your project
• Provide web design and hosting services if you become a client
• Send you invoices and project-related emails
• Keep our site running securely and diagnose technical issues

We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell it. Ever.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only to the extent they need it:

• Vercel Inc. hosts sitebench.com.au and processes enquiry form submissions and server logs on our behalf. Vercel stores data in its global infrastructure, which may mean data is processed outside Australia (including in the United States). Vercel is contractually bound to protect this data.
• Google Fonts serves the Geist font used on our site. Google may log your IP address when your browser fetches the font file.
• Google Analytics — we don’t currently use analytics, but we may add Google Analytics in the future. If we do, we’ll update this page before turning it on, and we’ll stick to basic, non-advertising configuration.

We don’t share your information with anyone else, unless we’re required to by law (for example, in response to a valid court order).

Cookies and tracking

We keep cookies to a minimum. The only cookies set on sitebench.com.au are the basic ones that Next.js and Vercel use to make the site work — for example, to keep deployments stable. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking scripts.

If we add analytics later, we’ll update this policy and (where required) ask for your consent first.

How long we keep it

• Enquiry form submissions and emails: kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, so we can follow up on prior conversations. If you become a client, we keep project records for 7 years to meet Australian tax and business record-keeping requirements.
• Server logs: rotated and deleted on Vercel’s standard schedule (typically around 30 days).

You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see below.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any information that’s wrong or out of date
• Ask us to delete your information (unless we’re legally required to keep it)
• Complain if you think we’ve mishandled your data

To make any of these requests, email hello@sitebench.com.au and we’ll get back to you within 30 days.

If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled a privacy concern, you can escalate it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Keeping your information secure

We use reputable providers (Vercel, Google) with strong security practices, and we limit access to personal information to people who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll also let active clients know by email.
